Long days, hot nights
This year, summer was kind to us. Our worries seemed to fade as we got to enjoy the one season that makes us feel like a kid again. -A.

Last week marked the end of my long, arduous year at ICP. The past 10 months have definitely been an ass kicking experience that has left me with a greater curiosity for the world than I had before. My long term project was focused on the neighborhood of Brownsville, Brooklyn, a roughly one square mile area of mostly public housing. The goal of this photo project was to show an alternative perspective that differed from what we see and hear about in the news in an attempt to challenge the stigma that is often placed on low-income African American areas. I plan on digging deeper and spending much of the summer out there. You can see the photo story in full on my shiny new portfolio site HERE. In the meantime, its time to decompress and enjoy my first summer in NY. - A.
